Q: How secure are ABC Flag Company and LinkPoint Central's services?
A: The LinkPoint Central Payment Gateway is committed to providing
a comprehensive approach to information security, designed
to mitigate the risks associated with engaging in electronic
commerce for its clients. Our company recognizes that providing
and maintaining secure systems is an ongoing process that
requires constant vigilance against evolving hacker techniques,
tools,
and methodologies.
We deploy a number of security methodologies in our systems:
- User authentication access to each level of the system
is password protected and assigned based on the roles that
each individual user needs and selects.
Only certain users are trusted to process transactions against the various
application platforms.
- For encryption of sensitive information
in transit, our systems support the Secure Sockets Layer
(SSL) protocol -
a security protocol that minimizes the
risk of exposure to eavesdropping, tampering, or message forgery during
client/server application communication.
- Our system does not display any sensitive credit
card information at any point during the purchase transaction
or subsequent order processing. System
users
can process a wide range of transaction types without needing to view
sensitive credit card information.
- In order to protect a customer's shopping experience
and privacy, our system has monitoring mechanisms to detect
abnormal network activity, including "denials
of service" attacks against our systems that could hamper site
availability.
- After the consumer's shopping experience, a wide range of information
about the consumer and the transaction must be stored for order
processing purposes.
Our system incorporates tools and technologies that protect this
information stored on behalf of our merchants. In addition
to requiring authentication
for a merchant to access customer information as described above,
we also encrypt sensitive data stored on our servers.
